The college contributes to a highly-trained workforce with more than 200 day and evening courses per quarter for professional and technical development and industry certification. Some classes meet evenings and weekends.

Dental Assisting National Board
Become a Certified Dental Assistant. The exam is offered approximately four times a year at the college. Certified Professional Horticulturist
Students enrolled in the environmental horticulture program may sit for this exam, given twice yearly in March and October. Individuals who pass the exam and complete the required work experience qualify to be recognized as certified professional horticulturists, designated by the initials "CPH." The test is offered by the Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association, P.O. Box 670, Sumner, WA 98390-0670, phone (800) 672-7711. A pre-test for this exam is offered by LWIT each October.
Certified Electronics Technician exam (CET) and FCC General Radio Telephone
The college provides the opportunity to take these exams Monday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, by appointment. Contact Dick Gunderson or Joe Gryniuk, East Building, Room E152, or by calling (425) 739-8343.
This national exam is given under the direction of our American Design Drafting Association certified test administrator. Call Roberta Butler at (425) 739-8364 for pre-registration information and reservations. Test fees are $95 and up, depending on the examination.
Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through ACSM, NSCA, NASM or ACE
Upon successful completion of the Fitness Specialist program, students become eligible to take several nationally accredited fitness industry exams. For more information, call (425) 739-8290
Certified Medical Assistant
At the culmination of one year's successful work experience as a medical assistant, the Lake Washington Institute of Technology graduate is eligible to take the CMA Exam. For more information, call (425) 739-8225.
