Gainful Employment

Gainful Employment Program Disclosure

Regulations published in the Federal Register on October 29, 2010, require institutions to report certain information about students who enrolled in Title IV eligible educational programs that lead to gainful employment in a recognized occupation (GE programs). Those regulations also provide that institutions must disclose to prospective students certain information about the institution's GE Programs. Information for each GE program at LWTech is provided below. Gainful Employment statistics for individual programs can also be found on the program pages. Job placement, on-time completion, and median loan data by area of study is provided by the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and contains data from the Data Linking for Outcomes Assessment and the National Student Clearinghouse. Program completers included in the calculation of the job placement rate represents the number of students who earned a certificate in 2013-14, exited the state community college system, and became employed nine months after leaving college in any job. Completion data is provided by the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and is pulled directly from the Data Linking Outcomes Assessment representing students who completed their program based on the respective Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code. For programs with multiple certificate options the placement rate will reflect all offerings that fall under the same CIP code. Most students enrolled at LWTech are tracked in their respective associate degree program and may not be included in the calculation of job placement rates for GE certificate programs.

Note: A short certificate is less than 45 credits or 900 hours, a long certificate is greater than 45 credits or from 900-1799 hours.
