Student Success Resources - Here to ease your stress!



Advising offers assistance in planning academic classes, preparing for admissions to a competitive admission program, learning about important campus resources, and getting on track to graduate.

Academic Honor Roll

Each quarter Lake Washington Institute of Technology honors the students who have made the President's List and Dean's List.

Academic Support Center

The Academic Support Center is a free services to help you be successful in all aspects of your education. Find tutoring assistance in Reading, writing, math, GED preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, and more.

Assessment Center

The Assessment Center offers quality testing and assessment services for our students, employees, and the community. Services include: COMPASS placement, GED, TEAS, CLEP, Adobe Certification testing, and Certiport exams.


The Bookstore is a source for educational books, office and school supplies, sportswear, and gifts. Book buy-back is offered at the end of each quarter.


The Commencement ceremony is an ongoing tradition to celebrate the academic successes and accomplishments of Lake Washington Institute of Technology graduates. Administrators, faculty, and staff all work to ensure this event is a memorable occasion for all graduates.

Computer Lab

The Computer Lab is a designated Quiet Area of the Library and offers both Windows and Mac computers, internet, and specialty software that is not available on computers in other areas of the library.


Counseling Services offers appointments to currently enrolled students with a professional counselor for free, short-term personal counseling (up to twelve sessions). Community resources, advocacy and referrals can also be accessed. Students may seek counseling for a variety of reasons including: anxiety, family issues, grief/loss, stress, interpersonal issues, and referral to community services.

Disability Support Services

Disability Support Services provides students with documented disabilities: interpreters for hearing, sight, and language impairments, adaptive equipment/assistive technology, digital recorders, and digital format textbooks, among other services.

e-Learning Center

For students who are taking online classes, e-Learning provides assistance in navigating or troubleshooting LWTech’s online course system.

Employment Resource Center

The Employment Resource Center offers job search resources, assistance with job searches, online job postings for students, alumni and community members, and workshops on choosing a career, resume writing, interviewing, and more.

Grade Appeal and Change Procedures

A grade appeal only applies to the final course grade. The assignment of a grade is the right and responsibility of the instructor. Students have the right to appeal a grade deemed arbitrary or capricious.

Learning Commons Tutoring Center

The Learning Commons Tutoring Center is a relaxed environment where faculty tutors collaborate with talented peer tutors to provide drop-in tutoring services in math,writing, and science. To find out more drop by or email

Library-Learning Commons

Our friendly Library - Learning Commons staff will help you take full advantage of their online catalog, research databases and other materials in this 18,000 square foot facility. You can also access our Computer Lab, check email, or just hang out!

Learning Lab

The The Learning Lab is a dynamic environment is where students can collaborate with peers, facilitators, and tutors to better understand course curriculum, access resources and apply principles.


TRiO is a collection of federally funded grant programs provide academic support to first-generation and/or low-income students, or students with disabilities. Services include, but are not limited to: one-on-one tutoring, study skills workshops, educational planning, academic advising, financial education, and transfer and career planning.


The Tutorial Program and the Learning Lab provide students with assistance for understanding important course concepts and accessing academic resources.

Workforce Development Programs

LWTech offers several federal or state funded programs through our Workforce Development programs that may provide assists with tuition, books, advising, and individualized support services, depending on qualifications.
